Hand Up Gala 2017

Saturday, October 28, 2017 | The National Constitution Center

Hand Up Gala - 2017

Please join The Joseph Fund family at our “Hand Up Gala” on Saturday,
October 28, 2017
from 6:30 – 10:30pm at The National Constitution Center, in Philadelphia, presented by Paris Corporation. As has been our great joy, this night will be extraordinary, with proceeds benefiting those in need of housing, homelessness services and the transformative power of education in our community.

During the program, we’ll be posthumously presenting The Msgr. Robert T. McDermott Philanthropy and Community Service Award to Rhonda Costello, our beloved former Board Member and champion of The Joseph Fund. This year will also mark the first time that we will bestow the inaugural Rhonda S. Costello Passion in Purpose Award to a valued member of our community. Rhonda was a true community pillar with a passion for guiding those in need. With her infectious energy, love and indomitable spirit, Rhonda left an incredible legacy that will live on in our hearts forever.

Rich Posmontier Music, regarded as one of the best Philadelphia wedding bands and a member of The Knot Music Hall of Fame, will entertain us during an evening highlighted by testimonials of personal triumph. In addition, there will be the finest of dining, chances to bid on amazing auction prizes and a remarkable opportunity to come together as a family whose ‘hand up’ is creating hope for so many on a path to a better life.  Please come and celebrate with us!

Honoring Rhonda Costello

EVP/Chief Retail Officer of Republic Bank

Rhonda’s passion for the Greater Philadelphia region was apparent in her daily life. For over 3 years she served as a Trustee on the board of The Joseph Fund, supporting the Missions of St. Joseph’s Pro-Cathedral, and also served as the organization’s Secretary. The Missions provide Camden residents with educational programs for nearly 600 children and shelter and affordable home ownership options for the homeless. She was a Trustee and Treasurer on the Board of Kennedy University Hospital, also serving on the Quality and Safety and Finance Committees. Throughout her career, she donated countless hours to several non-profit organizations including L.U.C.Y. (Lifting Up Camden’s Youth), United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, National Liberty Museum, American Heart Association and YMCAs of Burlington and Camden Counties. In addition to her passion for helping others in need, she was committed to being a devoted wife to Fran, mother to Amanda, Eileen, and Michael, and grandmother to Olivia Grace and Nora Jean. These are the titles of which she was most proud. (more)
